Job Description:

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Sr. Research Analyst to join our Private Equity team. The ideal candidate will excel in Financial Modelling, Research Valuation, Market Research, and Company Research, and have a proven ability to develop compelling Pitch Books. This role is essential for supporting our private equity investments by providing deep insights and thorough analyses that drive strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Modelling:

    • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, forecast company performance, and support valuation assessments.
    • Ensure financial models are accurate, robust, and adaptable to various scenarios and assumptions.
  2. Research Valuation:

    • Conduct detailed valuation analyses using methodologies such as DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
    • Identify and evaluate key value drivers, risks, and growth potential of target companies.
  3. Market Research:

    • Perform comprehensive market research to understand industry dynamics, trends, and competitive landscapes.
    • Analyze market conditions and macroeconomic factors that may impact potential investments.
  4. Company Research:

    • Conduct in-depth research on target companies, including financial performance, management quality, strategic positioning, and competitive advantages.
    • Compile and synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights for the investment team.
  5. Pitch Books:

    • Create high-quality Pitch Books to present investment opportunities to internal stakeholders and external clients.
    • Collaborate with the deal team to gather relevant data and ensure that presentations are well-structured, compelling, and visually appealing.
  6. Investment Analysis & Recommendations:

    • Provide well-supported investment recommendations based on thorough research and analysis.
    • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and investment committees.
  7. Collaboration & Communication:

    • Work closely with private equity professionals, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to support the deal process and investment decision-making.
    • Communicate research findings effectively through written reports, presentations, and verbal discussions.
  8. Data Management & Tools:

    • Utilize financial databases and research tools such as Bloomberg, Reuters, and Capital IQ to gather and analyze relevant information.
    • Stay updated with the latest industry developments, financial news, and market trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3.6 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, equity research, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and financial analysis.
  • Proven experience in conducting detailed market and company research.
  • Excellent skills in creating high-quality Pitch Books and investment presentations.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial databases and tools such as Bloomberg, Reuters, Capital IQ, etc.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
