Job Description: Legal Executive – Land & Property

Job Summary

We are looking for a Legal Executive – Land & Property to join its in-house legal team in Kolkata. The candidate will be responsible for checking land documents, verifying property titles, conducting legal due diligence, and ensuring that all land-related documents are legally valid before property purchases.

Candidates with prior experience in a Kolkata-based real estate company and good knowledge of West Bengal land records and property laws will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct land title searches and verify ownership of land and properties.

• Review and verify land documents before property purchases.

• Conduct legal due diligence to identify ownership issues, disputes, or legal risks.

• Check land records, deeds, mutation records, Record of Rights (RoR), and other property-related documents.

• Verify documents such as sale deeds, title deeds, agreements, and encumbrance certificates.

• Coordinate with government offices, land record authorities, lawyers, and other relevant parties for document verification.

• Assist in checking land records and property documentation related to West Bengal.

• Identify discrepancies or missing documents and report them to the senior legal team.

• Maintain proper records of land documents, legal reports, and property files.

• Support the legal team in land acquisition and other property-related legal matters.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• LLB degree from a recognized university.

• 1–2 years of relevant experience in land documentation, title verification, or property legal due diligence.

• Hands-on experience in land title searches and ownership verification.

• Good knowledge of West Bengal land records and property documentation.

• Understanding of sale deeds, title deeds, mutation, and encumbrance checks.

• Good communication, documentation, and coordination skills.

• Ability to identify document discrepancies and maintain accurate records.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Candidates with experience in a Kolkata-based real estate or property development company will be preferred.

• Experience in land acquisition, property transactions, and title verification will be an advantage.

• Candidates who can independently handle basic land document verification and due diligence are preferred.
