As part of our ambitious growth plans, we are seeking a highly driven, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented Sales & Business Development Leader who can spearhead business growth, build strategic customer relationships, expand our market presence, and contribute significantly towards achieving aggressive revenue targets.
Position Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Company's Sales, Business Development, and Marketing functions with a clear focus on revenue growth, customer acquisition, market expansion, and strategic account management. The role requires a dynamic professional with a proven track record of generating business, managing key accounts, building high-performing teams, and driving sustainable growth across domestic and international markets.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of engineering manufacturing, forging operations, and industrial sales, with prior exposure to Aerospace, Defence, Precision Engineering, or similar sectors being highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development
- Develop and execute short-term and long-term business development strategies aligned with the Company's growth objectives.
- Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities across domestic and international markets.
- Establish and maintain relationships with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, Defence organizations, Aerospace companies, EPC contractors, and industrial customers.
- Drive market penetration initiatives and develop new customer segments for forged and machined components.
Revenue Growth & Target Achievement
- Own and drive monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Generate and sustain business capable of contributing towards a revenue target exceeding ₹20 Crores per month.
- Develop strategic plans to maximize order inflow, improve customer retention, and increase wallet share from existing customers.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for profitable business growth.
Aerospace & Defence Business Development
- Develop business opportunities with Aerospace, Defence, Space, and Precision Engineering customers.
- Engage with government organizations, defence PSUs, private defence manufacturers, aerospace OEMs, and export markets.
- Understand tendering processes, vendor registrations, qualification requirements, and industry-specific compliance standards.
- Lead efforts to position the Company as a preferred supplier for critical forged and machined components.
International Business Development & Marketing
- Develop and execute international market expansion strategies.
- Identify potential customers, distributors, channel partners, and strategic alliances globally.
- Participate in international trade fairs, exhibitions, customer visits, and industry events.
- Manage export business development activities, including customer acquisition, negotiations, and relationship management.
- Monitor global market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
Key Account Management
- Build strong relationships with existing strategic customers and decision-makers.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and timely resolution of customer concerns.
- Lead commercial negotiations and contract finalization while ensuring profitability and long-term business sustainability.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Sales, Marketing, and Business Development teams.
- Establish performance metrics and accountability frameworks for team members.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on customer satisfaction, business growth, and continuous improvement.
- Drive collaboration between Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain functions.
Marketing & Brand Building
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and market positioning.
- Create impactful marketing campaigns, customer engagement initiatives, and promotional activities.
- Strengthen the Company's presence across digital platforms, industry forums, and trade associations.
Commercial & Business Planning
- Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, market intelligence reports, and business development plans.
- Analyze profitability, pricing strategies, and market opportunities.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on business performance, pipeline status, and growth initiatives.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related engineering discipline.
- MBA in Marketing, International Business, or Sales Management will be highly preferred.
Experience
- 5–15 years of progressive experience in Sales, Business Development, International Marketing, or Strategic Account Management.
- Experience in Forging, Aerospace, Defence, Auto Components, Precision Engineering, Heavy Engineering, Railways, Industrial Manufacturing, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of achieving significant revenue growth and acquiring large-scale customers.
Preferred Experience
- Aerospace and Defence business development experience will be given strong preference.
- Experience handling international customers and export markets.
- Exposure to large OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and global manufacturing organizations.
- Experience in leading and managing sales teams.
