Role Overview We are looking for a sharp, numbers-driven individual to lead our sourcing and costoptimization efforts. The primary goal of this role is to ensure we are getting the best possible value from our partners. You will be responsible for identifying high-quality vendors, negotiating competitive pricing, and maintaining a rigorous database of costs to protect our margins.
Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Vendor Negotiation • Active Sourcing: Identify and vet new suppliers to ensure a robust and competitive vendor pool. • Price Negotiation: Leading discussions with vendors to secure favorable credit terms, volume discounts, and competitive per-unit pricing. • Relationship Management: Build long-term partnerships to ensure we are prioritized during supply shortages or urgent timelines. • Contracting: Ensure all terms discussed (lead times, quality benchmarks, and return policies) are documented and honored.
2. Pricing & Cost Management • Benchmarking: Regularly compare market rates to ensure our current procurement costs remain competitive. • Margin Protection: Analyze how fluctuations in raw material or shipping costs impact our final product margins and flag concerns early. • Quote Analysis: Create comparative "Cost-Benefit" sheets for every major purchase to justify vendor selection. • Audit Support: Ensure that the final billed price strictly matches the negotiated quote.
3. Logistics & Invoice Management • Oversee the end-to-end movement of goods, ensuring vendors adhere to dispatch timelines. • Reconcile invoices with purchase orders (POs) and delivery notes to ensure no overbilling occurs. • Liaise with the accounting team to streamline payment cycles based on negotiated terms.
4. Data Analysis & Reporting • Maintain a real-time Master Pricing Sheet for all vendors and services. • Track "Savings Achieved" through negotiations as a key performance metric. • Report on vendor performance (on-time delivery, quality consistency, and pricing stability).
Required Skills & Qualifications • Experience: 0–2 years (Freshers with strong negotiation skills or a background in commerce/finance are encouraged). • Financial Literacy: A solid understanding of accounting principles (debits/credits, tax implications like GST/VAT, and P&L impact). • Technical: Highly proficient in Excel (Pivot tables, Lookups, and Trend Analysis). • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for persuasive negotiation • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot even minor discrepancies in complex quotes or multipage invoices.
