Urgent job opening for Asst Manager/ Manager- Procurement for one of the leading solar energy company for Ahmedabad location

Job Description:

It is a next-generation clean energy company headquarteredin Ahmedabad, Gujarat, operating at the forefront of India’s green hydrogen, renewable energy and advanced energy storage transition. With full-stack capabilities spanning electrolyser manufacturing, hydrogen systems engineering, EPC execution and large-scale project commissioning, It is among India’s earliest companies to translate green hydrogen ambition into operating assets.The company is building a strong domestic manufacturing backbone with a 300 MW electrolyser manufacturing
facility under development in Gujarat, scalable to 1 GW by FY 2028–29, alongside a PEM fuel cell assembly line targeted to reach 400 MW automated capacity by 2029. • Beyond hydrogen, company is actively executing large-scale solar EPC projects exceeding 300 MW and is
a key participant in the grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) sector, including Gujarat’s first 100 MWh storage deployment under execution. These initiatives are aligned with the Government of India’s PLI framework and the National Green Hydrogen Mission, reinforcing company's role in technology localization, energy security and large-scale decarbonization.

Designation of Hiring,Location & Mode of Working

• Designation: Asst Manager/ Manager
• Location: Ahmedabad
• Mode of Working: Full-time

Educational Qualification & Criteria

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or related fields
•Must be comfortable working with Chinese suppliers and across different time zones

Experience

• 6–7 years of experience in procurement or sourcing roles.

• Minimum 2–3 years hands-on experience in battery cell procurement, EV components procurement, or electronics sourcing from China.
• Proven track record of vendor development, cost negotiation, and import management.
•Experience in working with Tier-1 Chinese battery suppliers (CATL, BYD, EVE, CALB, Sunwoda, etc.) is an added advantage.
•Continuously improve cost savings, delivery reliability, and supplier performance.

Professional & Personal Abilities

•Strong knowledge of battery cell specifications, technical data sheets, and qualification processes
•Solid understanding of international logistics, INCO terms, HS codes, customs clearance, and import duties

•Ability to manage end-to-end procurement cycles: RFQs, negotiation, PO creation, shipment follow-up, delivery.

•Excellent numerical ability, cost analysis capability, and strong attention to detail
•Ability to work independently with daily coordination with China-based vendors

Key Job Responsibilities

•Daily coordination with Chinese battery cell manufacturers for quotations, negotiations, order tracking, and supply follow-ups
•Analyze technical datasheets, ensure compliance with internal quality & safety standards.
•Prepare RFQs, cost comparisons, commercial evaluations, and finalize suppliers based on cost, quality & reliability.
•Monitor price trends, raw material fluctuations (Lithium, Nickel, Cobalt), and market intelligence from China.
•Maintain inventory levels by forecasting demand and managing just-in-time procurement cycles.
•Work closely with Quality, R&D, Operations, Finance and Logistics teams to ensure smooth procurement.
•Ensure timely approval of Purchase Orders and follow up on production schedules & shipments.
•Continuously improve cost savings, delivery reliability, and supplier performance.
