SITE ENGINEER

Job Description:

Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Site Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Bidirectional Pile Load Testing (BPLT), Static Load Testing (SLT), Lateral Load Testing, and Plate Load Testing. The ideal candidate should have a sound understanding of geotechnical field testing, instrumentation setup, and data recording systems, along with the ability to supervise on-site operations and coordinate with project and client teams to ensure quality and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities: Test Planning and Site Preparation

 Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project teams for test planning, logistics, and scheduling.

 Supervise the installation of load cells, strain gauges, pressure transducers, and other test instrumentation.

 Verify setup alignment, load application points, and calibration of all test instruments.

 Ensure compliance with approved method statements, project specifications, and testing standards (ASTM / IS codes).

 Maintain complete documentation of drawings, pre-test checklists, and calibration certificates.

2. Execution of Pile Load Tests Supervise and execute the following field tests:

 Bidirectional Pile Load Test (BPLT)

 Static Axial Compression / Tension Load Test

 Lateral Load Test

 Plate Load Test

 Operate and monitor hydraulic jacking systems, load cells, and data acquisition units during testing.

 Record and verify load–displacement readings at each load stage.

 Ensure test procedures are carried out safely and accurately per project and standard requirements.

Department:  Speciality Testing , INDIA 3. Data Collection and Reporting

 Collect readings from pressure gauges, dial gauges, LVDTs, strain gauges, and digital data loggers.

 Verify and cross-check recorded data for consistency and completeness.

 Assist in data analysis, plotting load–settlement or load–deflection curves, and preparing summary reports.

 Prepare and submit daily progress reports, field logs, and final test data sheets. 4. Equipment Maintenance and Quality Control

 Ensure periodic calibration, maintenance, and proper handling of testing equipment and accessories.

 Maintain an updated inventory and calibration log for all test equipment.

 Troubleshoot field instrumentation issues as they arise.

 Ensure strict compliance with ASTM/IS, and relevant standards.

Qualifications and Skills: Education: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution

Experience:

 Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical field testing with exposure to:

 Bidirectional Pile Load Testing (BPLT)

 Static Load Testing (Axial Compression/Tension)

 Lateral Load Testing & Plate Load Testing

 Experience with hydraulic systems, strain gauges, data acquisition, and geotechnical instrumentation setup. Technical Skills:

 Sound understanding of pile and foundation testing principles.

 Proficiency in field data acquisition and manual data recording.

 Knowledge of geotechnical testing standards (ASTM, IS, BS).

 Ability to operate and troubleshoot hydraulic jacks, pressure cells, LVDTs, and data loggers.
