Senior Accountant

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

• Finalize accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

• Prepare MIS reports, profit & loss statements, and balance sheets.

2. GST Compliance:

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and other relevant returns.

• Reconciliation of GSTR with books and vendor data.

• Handle GST audits and resolve GST-related queries.

3. TDS Management:

• Deduct TDS as per applicable rates and provisions.

• Prepare and file TDS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.).

• Generate and issue TDS certificates (Form 16, 16A).

4. Accounts Payable & Receivable:

• Monitor vendor payments and customer receipts.

• Reconcile supplier and customer accounts periodically.

• Coordinate with procurement and sales teams for timely documentation.

5. Bank & Cash Management:

• Manage daily cash flow and banking operations.

• Handle bank reconciliations and payment processing.

6. Inventory and Costing:

• Work with the production and stores team to ensure accurate stock accounting.

• Analyze production cost and support product costing activities.

7. Audit & Compliance:

• Assist in internal, statutory, and tax audits.

• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements under Income Tax, GST, PF, ESI, etc.

8. Team Support & Coordination:

• Guide junior accountants in day-to-day tasks.

• Liaise with external consultants, CA firms, and tax authorities when required.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of GST and TDS rules & regulations

• Proficient in accounting software (Tally ERP, SAP, or similar)

• Good knowledge of MS Excel and reporting tools

• Familiar with manufacturing cost structures and inventory accounting
