Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager / AGM - Purchase to oversee the procurement activities for our manufacturing operations in Kolkata. The ideal candidate will lead the purchasing function, ensuring a seamless supply of materials while optimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement and Sourcing:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational goals.
    • Source raw materials, fabrics, trims, and accessories, ensuring the best balance of quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  2. Vendor Management:
    • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors.
    • Negotiate contracts, prices, and payment terms.
    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers.
  3. Inventory and Cost Control:
    • Monitor inventory levels and plan procurement schedules to prevent delays or overstocking.
    • Achieve cost optimization through strategic buying and vendor negotiations.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure material availability aligns with production requirements.
    • Resolve procurement challenges that may impact production timelines.
  5. Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and audit requirements.
    • Maintain accurate procurement records for reporting and review.
  6. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals.
    • Monitor team performance, set KPIs, and foster skill development within the team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (MBA preferred)/ BTech in Textiles
  • Experience:
    Minimum 15-20 years of procurement experience in the garment/textile industry, with a proven track record of managing high-volume purchases and vendor negotiations.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of garment raw materials (fabrics, trims, and accessories).
    • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office Suite.
    • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Leadership and team management abilities.
    • High adaptability to changing market dynamics.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
