Designation- Solar Design Engineer
Location- Kolkata
Qualification – B.E/ B.Tech (Electrical)
Job Description:
- Should have knowledge of DC & AC engineering specifications of Solar PV Plants and standards including IEC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS etc.
- Very good experience with PVsyst, energy yield simulations and performance ratios using various meter data.
- Should be able to understand various solar PV Module technologies and mounting systems like fixed tilt and trackers.
- Good experience in PV Layout preparation for both rooftop & ground-mounted systems using Helioscope & PV case software.
- Shall be able to perform shading analysis.
- Design and engineering of ground-mounted projects' DC & AC side electrical systems.
- Should be able to Develop power and protection SLDs, PV array layouts, grouping etc. on design tools like AutoCAD software.
- should be able to design and size String Cable, Power Cable (DC and AC) sizing & calculation, length estimations and Calculations and cable accessories selections.
- Review & preparation of General Technical Parameters, Design Memorandum, checklist preparation, Equipment sizing and configuration for the DC Component.
- Shall be able to review and perform short circuit current calculations to finalize equipment short circuit ratings.
- Coordination of designs and review activities between Contractor/EPC, Design team and client office. Highlight any technical issues as they occur and advise on their actual or potential impacts.
Desired Candidate Profile
- BE Electrical with more than 4 - 5 years’ experience.
- Candidate shall preferably be from design Consulting or EPC background with exposure to utility-scale solar PV projects ground-mounted.
- Should be able to do designs for Module Layout, equipment layouts for Main control buildings, Inverter stations and control room.
- Good communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality design reports and drawings.
- Should have the skill to utilize software like Helioscope, PV CASE, PVsyst AutoCAD, ETAP, and Microsoft packages.
