Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior HR Manager to lead the Human Resources function with a strong focus on labour management, industrial relations, statutory compliance, employee engagement, and workforce administration. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in handling blue-collar workforce, labour issues, union interactions, and ensuring compliance with labour laws while supporting organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Management
- Lead and manage end-to-end HR operations across the organization.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Drive recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee retention initiatives.
- Manage employee grievances and ensure timely resolution of workplace concerns.
- Oversee employee engagement and organizational development activities.
Labour Relations & Workforce Management
- Handle labour workforce, contractors, and shop-floor employees effectively.
- Manage industrial relations and maintain harmonious employee-management relationships.
- Address labour disputes, disciplinary matters, and grievance handling.
- Coordinate with labour contractors and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Conduct domestic inquiries and disciplinary proceedings whenever required.
- Liaise with labour authorities, inspectors, and government departments.
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Manage PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, CLRA, Factory Act, Shops & Establishment Act, and other labour-related compliances.
- Maintain statutory records, registers, and documentation.
- Coordinate audits and inspections related to labour and HR compliance.
Payroll & Administration
- Oversee payroll processing, attendance, leave management, and employee records.
- Ensure accurate manpower planning and workforce deployment.
- Support administration and facility-related HR activities as required.
Leadership & Strategy
- Partner with senior management on workforce planning and HR strategy.
- Provide guidance to department heads on people management and compliance matters.
- Lead and mentor the HR team to achieve departmental objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA/PGDM in HR, MSW, or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of labour laws, industrial relations, and statutory compliances.
- Proven experience handling large blue-collar workforce and labour-related matters.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with employees, management, contractors, and government authorities.
Preferred Experience
- 8–15+ years of HR experience, including significant exposure to labour handling and industrial relations.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or similar labour-intensive industries.
- Prior experience managing labour unions and workforce disputes will be an added advantage.
