Job Description:

Job Title- Planning Engineer (Fabrication Industry)
Location: Bhilai (Chhattisgarh)
Experience: 3-8 years in fabrication industry

Job Summary
The Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling fabrication activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards. The role involves close coordination with production, engineering, procurement, and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities
Planning  & Scheduling

 Develop detailed fabrication schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 / MS Project
 Prepare baseline schedules, look-ahead plans, and weekly/monthly progress plans
 Define activity sequences based on drawings, BOMs, and fabrication processes
 Plan manpower, machinery, and material requirements Monitoring & Control
 Ensure Material availability and correctness of issued Drawing with revisions.
 Track daily/weekly fabrication progress and compare with baseline schedules
 Identify delays, bottlenecks, and resource constraints; propose recovery plans
 Update schedules and generate progress reports for management and clients
 Monitor productivity, fabrication and Machining cycle time Coordination
 Coordinate with engineering for drawing availability, alternate material approval proposal and revisions
 Liaise with procurement to ensure timely material delivery
 Work closely with production, Quality, and stores teams
 Attend progress review meetings with internal teams and clients Reporting & Documentation
 Prepare progress reports and dashboards.
 Maintain planning records, schedules, and change logs
 Support claims, extensions of time, and variation analysis when required Cost & Resource Support
 Assist in resource leveling and optimization
 Support cost control and forecasting activities
 Analyze fabrication efficiency and recommend improvements

Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Production / Industrial Engineering or equivalent
 Certification in Primavera P6 / MS Project is an advantage

Skills & Competencies
 Strong knowledge of Engineering materials, Standards and manufacturing processes (cutting, welding, machining, assembly & painting)
 Proficiency in Primavera P6 / MS Project, Excel
 Understanding of drawings, BOMs, WBS, and fabrication workflows
 Good analytical, coordination, and communication skills
 Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
 Should be familiar with ERP (SAP) system work functionality

Industry Experience (Preferred)
 Steel fabrication-Building Structure Fabrication, Technological Structure Fabrication, Equipment Fabrication.
