Job Description – Senior Accounts Manager

1. Role Overview

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations for retail stores and e-commerce business.
• Ensure accuracy of books, statutory compliance, and timely reporting.
• Support the CFO/Finance Head in audits, controls, and system-driven accounting processes.

3. Accounting & Book Closure

• Maintain accurate books of accounts for retail outlets and e-commerce channels.
• Ensure timely recording of sales (online & offline), purchases, expenses, and journals.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual book closures.

1. GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance

• Handle end-to-end GST compliance including:
• GSTR-1, GSTR-3B filing
• GSTR-2B vs purchase reconciliation
• Manage TDS deduction, payment, and quarterly TDS return filing.
• Ensure compliance with Income Tax and other statutory requirements.

1. Reconciliation & Controls

• Perform regular reconciliations including:
• Bank and cash reconciliation
• Marketplace settlements (Amazon, Myntra, website gateways, etc.)
• Vendor, customer, and ledger reconciliations
• Identify discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.

1. Vendor & Customer Accounting

• Maintain accurate vendor and customer ledgers with ageing analysis.
• Ensure timely booking of invoices, credit notes, sales returns, and discounts.
• Coordinate with procurement and sales teams for invoice validation.

1. Payroll & Employee Accounting

• Process payroll accounting entries and statutory deductions.
• Ensure timely payment of PF, ESI, and professional tax (as applicable).
• Maintain employee-related accounting records.

1. Audit & Documentation

• Assist in statutory audit, tax audit, and internal audits.
• Maintain proper documentation, schedules, and reconciliations for audit.
• Support closure of audit observations.

1. MIS & Reporting Support

• Prepare MIS reports covering:
• Retail store-wise and channel-wise performance
• Expense and margin analysis
• Support management reviews and financial discussions.

1. ERP / Accounting System Management

• Work on Tally / ERP systems with understanding of retail and e-commerce accounting flows.
• Ensure correct master creation (GST, vendors, customers, items).
• Support automation and system-driven controls.

3. Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualification

• B.Com / M.Com / CA-Inter / MBA (Finance) preferred.

Experience

• 6–10 years of experience in accounting and compliance roles.
• Mandatory exposure to e-commerce and retail business accounting.

4. Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and GST/TDS laws.
• Practical understanding of e-commerce marketplaces and retail store accounting.
• Hands-on experience with Tally / ERP systems.
• Strong reconciliation, documentation, and audit-handling skills.
• High attention to detail and deadline orientation.
• Good coordination and communication skills.

• Reports to: CFO / Finance Head
• Coordinates with: Retail Operations, E-commerce, Sales, HR, and Procurement Teams
