Maintenance Engineer – Factory / Plant Maintenance

Role Objective

The Maintenance Engineer will support the maintenance team in ensuring smooth and continuous operation of factory machinery, utilities and production equipment with minimum downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery.

Troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues.

Perform routine inspections and machine health checks.

Maintain daily maintenance records, breakdown logs and checklists.

Support senior engineers in machine installation, commissioning and trial runs.

Ensure adherence to safety procedures and SOPs.

Assist in maintenance of utilities – compressors, DG sets, pumps, boilers, HVAC.

Track spare parts usage and update inventory records.

Coordinate with production team during maintenance activities.

Participate in continuous improvement and TPM activities.

Required Skills

Basic knowledge of industrial maintenance practices.

Understanding of motors, starters, sensors, bearings, belts, gears.

Basic knowledge of PLC / VFD / automation systems (added advantage).

Ability to read machine manuals and basic drawings.

Willingness to learn and work in shift operations.

Educational Qualification

Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering.

Preferred Candidate

Fresher or up to 2 years experience in manufacturing / factory environment.

Positive attitude with strong problem-solving mindset.

Ready to work in plant floor conditions.
