Store -In charge
Job Description:
Position Purpose:
To manage and control all store operations including receipt, storage, issue,
documentation, inventory accuracy, and inter-departmental coordination.
Ensure efficient and safe handling of materials while maintaining proper systems
and records to support production and procurement requirements
Job Description:
1.Material Receipt & Verification
Ensure proper receipt of all incoming materials with matching purchase orders.
Oversee inspection of goods for quantity, quality, and damage.
Coordinate with QC/production for inward approvals when required.
Generate and maintain GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes) accurately and timely.
2. Inventory Management
Maintain updated and accurate stock records (physical & system).
Ensure adherence to FIFO/FEFO practices.
Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels; trigger reorders accordingly.
Track slow-moving, excess, or obsolete inventory and flag to procurement.
3. Material Issuance & Dispatch
Ensure timely issuance of materials as per job cards, requisitions, or production
plans.
Prepare and record issue slips for all outgoing stock.
Supervise packing and documentation for inter-department or inter-unit
dispatches.
4. System & Documentation
Maintain all store documents — GRNs, gate passes, indents, issue slips, return
notes.
Ensure real-time and error-free entry into ERP/inventory software.
Support in monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of inventory.
5. Team Supervision
Supervise and allocate tasks to store assistants, data entry operators, runners,
and helpers.
Train junior staff in SOPs, safety norms, and documentation.
Ensure discipline, punctuality, and teamwork within store operations.
6. Audit & Stock Reconciliation
Conduct and support daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock verifications.
Reconcile system stock vs physical stock and investigate discrepancies. Assist internal, statutory, and external auditors during audits.
7. Inter-Department Coordination
Coordinate with procurement for PO status, delivery follow-ups, and shortages.
Work closely with production, merchandising, QA, and accounts teams for
material flow.
Provide real-time inventory updates and feedback to management.
8. Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping
Ensure safe storage practices and handling of materials, especially trims,
chemicals, flammable goods.
Monitor shelf-life or expiry-based items if applicable.
Maintain store hygiene and cleanliness as per audit requirements.
Qualifications:
Graduate/Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Commerce.
4–7 years of experience in a similar role managing Store/warehouse/inventory or
relevant experience as a store in-charge.
Proficiency in ERP software, Excel, and inventory tracking tools. Strong
Organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and sense of ownership
