Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sales Leadership & Strategy

    • Drive sales of John Deere construction equipment (excavators, backhoes, loaders, etc.) in a defined territory. 

    • Work with dealers/distributors: coordinate with them to push JD products, plan promotions, and deliver technical training.

    • Implement strategic sales initiatives and align with company targets. 

    • Use incentive programs and sales promotions to hit targets. 

  2. Dealer Training and Support

    • Arrange product and application training for dealer sales teams. 

    • Act as product expert: help dealers understand JD’s construction products, their usage, and advantages. 

    • Support sales process with technical knowledge and customer-facing support.

  3. Customer & Market Management

    • Build and maintain relationships with key construction customers (contractors, rental companies, heavy-equipment buyers).

    • Monitor the market: gather customer feedback, track competitor products, and recommend new product strategies.

    • Attend and support construction and industry events in the territory.

  4. Field Sales & Reporting

    • Regular travel: visit dealers and customers, sometimes up to 75% travel is required. 

    • Prepare sales forecasts, territory business plans, and performance reports.

    • Work cross-functionally: coordinate with product, marketing, service, and operations teams.

  5. Team Management (if Senior Role)

    • Mentor or manage junior sales staff (e.g., Territory Sales Managers). 

    • Provide leadership to sales teams, set targets, and ensure team achieves KPI.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in construction or off-road equipment sales or marketing. 

  • Strong understanding of heavy construction machines (excavators, loaders, attachments).

  • Experience working with a dealer network is often required. 

  • Business acumen: able to design and implement sales strategies.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting and presentations.

  • Flexibility: willingness to travel frequently for customer/dealer meetings.
