Job Description:
Job Purpose
To provide strategic and operational leadership for the Wind Turbine Gearbox Manufacturing Plant,
ensuring achievement of production, quality, safety, delivery, cost, and compliance objectives while
supporting business growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Operations Management
Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations including machining, heat treatment, assembly,
testing, painting, packaging, and dispatch of wind turbine gearboxes.
Ensure achievement of production plans, customer delivery schedules, and capacity
utilization targets.
Monitor plant performance through KPIs and implement corrective actions.
Optimize resource utilization to maximize productivity and profitability.
Manage the local management team [ Indian & Expats] to get the required outputs
2. Manufacturing Excellence
Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduce downtime.
Lead productivity enhancement and cost reduction projects.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the plant.
3. Quality Management
Ensure compliance with customer specifications and international quality standards.
Lead quality assurance and quality control functions.
Drive reduction in rejection, rework, warranty claims, and customer complaints.
Ensure successful completion of customer, certification, and surveillance audits.
4. Supply Chain & Production Planning
Coordinate with procurement, planning, stores, and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted
production.
Optimize inventory levels while maintaining production continuity.
Monitor supplier performance impacting production schedules.
Ensure timely dispatch of finished products to domestic and international customers.
5. Maintenance & Asset Management
Ensure effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance programs.
Improve equipment reliability and plant availability.
Lead automation, modernization, and capacity expansion projects.
Manage utilities and energy optimization initiatives.
6. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
Promote a zero-harm workplace culture.
Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability objectives.
7. Financial & Cost Management
Prepare and manage annual plant budgets.
Monitor manufacturing costs and implement cost optimization initiatives.
Control material consumption, scrap generation, and utility expenses.
Support profitability and business growth objectives.
8. Human Resource & Industrial Relations
Build and develop a high-performance workforce.
Lead workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning.
Maintain harmonious industrial relations.
Ensure compliance with labour laws and company policies.
9. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with:
o Factories Act and State Factory Rules
o Labour Codes and Employment Laws
o Environmental Regulations
o Fire and Safety Requirements
o Electrical Safety Regulations
o SEZ Regulations (where applicable)
o Corporate Governance Requirements
Liaise with government authorities, auditors, and certification agencies.
10. Customer & Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary plant interface for key customers and corporate management.
Support customer audits and business reviews.
Ensure customer satisfaction through consistent quality and delivery performance.
Coordinate with global teams, expatriates, and technical experts.

Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial
Engineering, or related discipline.
MBA / PGDM in Operations Management preferred.
Experience
20–25 years of manufacturing experience.
Minimum 8–10 years in senior leadership roles managing large manufacturing plants.
