Shift Engineer - ETP

Job Description:

Job Purpose:

To ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) in compliance with environmental regulations and company sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and related wastewater treatment systems during the assigned shift.

• Analyze influent and effluent samples for key parameters (pH, COD, BOD, TSS, TDS, etc.) and maintain proper records.

• Ensure treated water quality meets PCB norms and company environmental standards.

• Perform chemical dosing and maintain optimum levels for efficient treatment.

• Handle sludge management, filtration units, and reverse osmosis systems (if applicable).

• Maintain logbooks, operation records, and shift reports accurately.

• Coordinate with the Maintenance team for timely repair and upkeep of ETP equipment (pumps, blowers, clarifiers, aeration tanks, etc.).

• Monitor chemical consumption and assist in inventory management.

• Support audits, inspections, and reporting to environmental authorities (PCB).

• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality norms.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of ETP process operations and wastewater treatment techniques.

• Familiarity with analytical testing for water and effluent parameters.

• Hands-on experience with ETP instrumentation and chemical handling.

• Good documentation and reporting skills.

• Awareness of environmental and pollution control norms.

• Teamwork, attention to detail, and safety-oriented mindset.
