Job Title: Regional Marketing/Sales Head – Pesticides

Department: Sales & Marketing

Job Objective:

To lead and manage regional sales and marketing operations for the pesticide business, drive revenue growth, strengthen brand presence, and ensure sustainable market expansion across the assigned geography.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement region-specific sales plans aligned with national objectives.

  • Drive sales targets across product lines (insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, etc.).

  • Monitor sales performance, market share, and growth against competitors.

2. Marketing Leadership

  • Lead regional marketing campaigns, farmer outreach programs, and product positioning efforts.

  • Organize demonstrations, field days, and training programs to promote awareness and usage.

  • Localize national branding initiatives for regional impact.

3. Channel & Distribution Management

  • Appoint and manage distributors, dealers, and sub-dealers.

  • Optimize distribution networks for product availability and last-mile delivery.

  • Track distributor performance and resolve supply chain bottlenecks.

4. Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of Area Sales Managers (ASMs), Territory Sales Executives (TSEs), and field agronomists.

  • Define clear KPIs, conduct regular reviews, and build team capabilities.

5. Market Intelligence & Product Feedback

  • Conduct market surveys, competitor analysis, and gather farmer insights.

  • Provide feedback to R&D and product teams for improvement and innovation.

6. Budgeting & Planning

  • Prepare annual regional sales budgets and control marketing spend.

  • Ensure ROI on marketing activities and promotions.


Educational Qualifications:

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in Agriculture or Agri-Business Management

  • MBA in Marketing or equivalent is preferred


Experience Required:

  • 8–15 years in sales & marketing of agrochemicals or pesticides

  • Minimum 3–5 years in a regional leadership role


Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of crop protection products and farming practices

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities

  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills

  • Analytical, strategic thinking, and result orientation

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region
