Galvanizing incharge/ engineer

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Production Planning & Execution

• Supervise the end-to-end galvanizing process, including surface preparation (degreasing, pickling, fluxing), zinc bath operations, and finishing.

• Plan daily galvanizing schedules based on production targets and dispatch timelines.

• Coordinate with fabrication and dispatch teams to ensure smooth material flow.

🔹 Quality Assurance

• Ensure galvanizing thickness and finish meet IS 2629 / ASTM A123 / ISO 1461 or relevant standards.

• Conduct regular inspections and thickness measurements (using Elcometer or similar tools).

• Handle rework, defects (e.g., uncoated areas, ash, blisters), and root cause analysis.

🔹 Resource & Process Management

• Monitor zinc bath temperature, chemical compositions (acid, flux, etc.), and bath life.

• Maintain material handling equipment (e.g., jigs, cranes, tongs) for efficient and safe operation.

• Ensure proper storage and identification of galvanized materials.

🔹 Maintenance & Safety

• Schedule periodic maintenance of galvanizing plant, furnace, filtration, and scrubbing systems.

• Enforce strict safety and environmental norms as per pollution control board guidelines.

• Manage hazardous waste, fume control, and effluent treatment compliance.

🔹 Team Management

• Lead a team of operators, helpers, and technicians; allocate manpower shifts.

• Conduct on-the-job training and safety briefings.

🔹 Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain process logs, zinc consumption, chemical usage, and downtime records.

• Prepare daily and monthly galvanizing reports for management review.

• Coordinate for internal and third-party inspections.
